- At least 43 civilians have been killed and dozens more wounded in 3 air strikes by either the Syrian government or Russian war planes on a busy market in al-Atarib.
- ISIL has recaptured some 60% of al-Bukamal, its last stronghold in Syria just 2 days after the Syrian army declared it had taken full control over the town.
- Russia and the United States will continue their efforts fighting against the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) group in Syria, US President Donald Trump and Russian Vladimir Putin have agreed. But in a joint statement released by the Kremlin, the leaders agreed there was no military solution to the conflict in Syria and called on all parties to take part in the Geneva process.

- Saudi Arabia announced that the Saudi-led coalition fighting Shiite rebels in Yemen will begin reopening airports and seaports, days after closing them over a rebel ballistic missile attack on Riyadh. A top leader of Yemen’s Shiite rebels vowed retaliation against the oil-rich kingdom over its disastrous blockade of his war-torn country.
